How to Configure the Scan System for the OracleScanner

Complete the following steps to configure the scan system for the Oracle protocol scan task:

For Oracle 6.x, configure the operating system to ensure that the "orasrv" process is running before the OracleScanner is started (the orasrv process must be running on the same machine as the OracleScanner; see Oracle SQL-NET Users Guide for more information) if the Oracle database is not located on the same host as the OracleScanner.

For Windows, ensure that the Oracle Client Access software is installed on the machine that the scan task will be running on. The "Required Support Files" software should be at revision 7.3.4 or greater.
Configure the scan system by specifying the appropriate information in the scan system configuration area of the database.
Run RTAP with the OracleScanner included as an entry in RtapEnvTable, with the autostart phase field set to 0 (zero).

The device-dependent attributes and fields that you must configure.

The device-independent attributes that the OracleScanner uses in a special way.
